Saint-Etienne Temple

Perched in the heart of Mulhouse, on the Place de la Réunion, this neo-Gothic temple is an iconic building of the city. Constructed between 1858 and 1868 by architect J.B. Schacre, it stands on the site of a former medieval church dating back to the 12th century. The building, designed in the then-popular neo-Gothic style, is distinguished by its imposing architecture and slender lines.

Inside, the temple still houses the magnificent stained glass windows that adorned the original church. These works, considered among the most remarkable in the Upper Rhine, bring colorful light and a serene atmosphere to the building. Their preservation makes it a valuable testament to medieval glass art and local history.
