Saint Gall Church Art Stained Glass

The Saint Gall Church in Rittershoffen houses an exceptional stained glass window, a true masterpiece of Alsatian glass art created by Tristan Ruhlmann, master glassmaker from Haguenau. Designed by Joseph Jochum, the parish priest from 1950 to 1998, this stained glass stands out as the largest among those made in churches rebuilt in Alsace after World War II. Its uniqueness lies not only in its size but also in its colorful surface and its biblical, ecumenical, and historical representation.

At night, when the church is illuminated, the stained glass transforms the building into a radiant vision, evoking the precious stones mentioned in the Apocalypse of Saint John: "beautiful as the bride adorned for her husband."

This place of worship is also recognized as a heritage site on the Jacquaire pilgrimage route.
