Saint-Hilaire Arsenal
Built in 1518, the arsenal consists of three distinct buildings.
Originally named Zeughaus, it was renamed Saint-Hilaire in 1785 following renovations led by Marc Gaspard Capriol de Saint-Hilaire, then commander of the city's artillery.
This site served as a depot for several thousand pioneer tools, as well as lead, tar, and ammunition.
Its impressive architecture, marked by a sturdy framework with three levels of attics covered with terracotta tiles, perfectly illustrates its purpose as a large-scale storage facility.
Today, the building can only be viewed from the outside.
