Saint John the Baptist Church
Saint John the Baptist Church is a listed monument that hosts both Catholic and Lutheran services, making it a simultaneous church. While the bell tower and nave date from the 18th century, the choir retains Gothic architecture, reflecting the building's evolution over the centuries. Among its artistic treasures, the wall frescoes stand out, notably one depicting a Mystic Mill dated 1491. This work, attributed to an unknown artist, shows angels and apostles operating a millstone above the Eucharistic cabinet. Today, only thirteen churches worldwide feature such a motif, including eleven in Germany and two in northern Alsace, one of which is in Betschdorf. These frescoes were restored in 1926 by Auguste Dubois, a native of Gresswiller. Saint John the Baptist Church is also part of the Jacquaire heritage.
