Saint Laurent Catholic Church
The Saint Laurent Catholic Church stands in Dorlisheim, on the Alsace Wine Route, about forty kilometers from Strasbourg.
Built between 1887 and 1895, it marks the end of two centuries of simultaneum in this village. This beautiful neo-Romanesque building features statues of Joan of Arc and Saint Martin on its facade.
Inside, large stained glass windows, donated around 1912 by local notables including Baron Hervé Gruyer, flood the space with light. The choir windows depict the life of Saint Laurent. The organ, installed in 1900, along with a stained glass window, was donated by automobile manufacturer Ettore Bugatti.
The church welcomes visitors on Sundays in July and August, as well as during celebrations throughout the year. Guided tours for groups are available upon request, to be arranged through the church council.
