Saint Laurent Church
The current church of Gougenheim features a bell tower still adorned with Romanesque arcades, built at the end of the 11th or beginning of the 12th century. The spire and the nave were constructed much later, in 1749 and 1843 respectively. Around the building, the cemetery houses beautiful funerary steles in various styles, reflecting the local history. To extend the visit, a marked trail offers a fun and educational exploration of the commune's heritage. An explanatory panel dedicated to the church is installed opposite the building, on the cemetery wall, inviting visitors to continue discovering the other treasures of Gougenheim through a walk.
