Saint Léon IX Chapel

The Saint-Léon Chapel was built in 1894 on the site of an old dungeon, in a neo-Romanesque style. It is dedicated to Saint Léon and stands out for its simple architecture and decorative elements inspired by the region's medieval past. Inside, the vault is adorned with painted medallions by Martin, reproducing the style of the 11th century. These medallions depict seven scenes from the life of Saint Léon, offering an artistic and spiritual testimony. The chapel's six stained glass windows highlight saints of Alsace, several of whom belong to the Counts of Eguisheim family, thus strengthening the link between local history and religious heritage.
