Saint Léon Retirement Home

Built around 1780 by the contractor Rondouin, who operated quarries and vineyards, this elegant mansion was originally intended to host bourgeois families coming to take the waters at Soultz-les-Bains.

After the death without heirs of Mademoiselle Grouvel in 1948, the Congregation of the Holy Spirit acquired it the following year. They then established the Saint Léon House, a retreat reserved for elderly priests who had carried out missions around the world.

The estate, privately owned and accessible only from the outside, enjoys a peaceful setting between the Bruche Canal and the vineyard-covered hills rising just behind the buildings.
