Saint Lucy Church
Inaugurated in 1870, this church has been classified as a historic monument since 1999 for its interior decoration, created by E. Schilling in 1896. A complete restoration was carried out between 1984 and 1986 by the Bruckert company from Saverne, preserving this last regional example of neo-Romanesque decoration. Dense and sumptuous, the decoration alternates bright and pastel shades, dominated by blue and green, highlighted with gold trim.
The rectangular tower, topped with a hexagonal spire, reaches 42 meters and overlooks a nave measuring 29.80 meters long, 15.40 meters wide, and 12 meters high. Today, the six bells of the bell tower produce the most powerful ringing in the Hardt region, except for Neuf-Brisach. The organ, work number 24 by Martin Ringenbach installed in 1890, remains in perfect working order.
Unique in Alsace, this church is dedicated to Saint Lucy. As early as the 13th century, the first chapel or church already bore this name.
