Saint-Marc Convent

Perched two kilometers from the village, the Saint-Marc convent is said to have been founded in 676 by Dagobert II. This Benedictine abbey was then under the jurisdiction of the Strasbourg bishopric. Repeatedly ravaged by invasions during the Middle Ages, it was rebuilt in the 11th century. Another restoration took place in 1762, led by the Ebersmunster abbey. Since 1868, a community of Sisters of Charity of Saint Joseph has been established there and still resides there today.
