Saint Martin Church

The village church, dedicated to Saint Martin who also gave his name to the locality, stands at the center of the cemetery. Its history dates back to the 14th century: an altar dedicated to Saint John the Baptist was erected in 1343, and the building is mentioned in 1371 and 1390. In 1426, the parish was taken from Nicolas Honsae, accused of allowing an excommunicated priest to conduct services. Probably rebuilt after 1649, following the Thirty Years' War and a fire, the church today houses a bell tower that likely survived the disaster.
