Saint Martin Church

Overlooking the heart of the town, this neo-Gothic church impresses with its grandeur. Its Latin cross plan is organized around a nave with four bays illuminated by traceried windows, flanked by two aisles. The transept, featuring two main entrances topped with gables and rose windows, connects to a three-sided apse, complemented by a sacristy with a hipped roof. The massive, polygonal sandstone porch tower houses a bell tower with a polygonal spire and proudly overlooks the valley. Four entrances, including two in the north and south transepts, provide access to the building. Built between 1857 and 1869 by architect Aristide Poisat from Belfort, it replaces a 16th-century church, some of whose gargoyles, like the ram-shaped one, were reused. Several restorations have been carried out since 1930 to preserve this remarkable heritage.
