Saint-Materne Church

The Saint-Materne Church of Neubois stands slightly apart from the village, offering a commanding view over the surrounding houses.

Its square bell tower, covered with slate, ends with a pointed roof topped by a cross and a characteristic weathercock.

On the base of the facade, the year of construction, 1858, is engraved in a notch above the entrance door.

Inside, the building features a rectangular nave opening onto a pink sandstone forecourt, accessible by three steps leading to the choir.

A stucco triumphal arch separates the nave from the choir, where two side altars dedicated to the Virgin and Saint Joseph are located.

The church also houses the only Callinet organ in the valley, whose instrumental part has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1978.
