Saint Maurice Church
The current church, built between 1879 and 1880 in a neo-Gothic style inspired by the early 13th century, replaces a Romanesque building. Funded by collections held from 1856 to 1876, it was the work of Father Hasselmann and designed according to the plans of architect Charles Winkler. The building is a three-nave basilica, featuring a transept with two side chapels and a pentagonal choir.
Inside, the neo-Gothic furnishings, homogeneous and mainly created by the Klem workshops of Colmar between 1884 and 1900, are particularly noteworthy. The façade bell tower, reaching 72 meters, is the tallest in the Bruche Valley.
To further explore the church and its interior, guided tours are organized by the Mutzig Historical Society.
