Saint Michael Church

The Saint Michael Church in Roppenheim, completed in 1623, is a building rich in history.

Inside, the Renaissance-style pulpit, dated 1672, and the organ built in 1791 by Michel Stiehr, a renowned organ maker from Seltz, are listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. Near the church, several tombstones of the Fleckenstein lords have been discovered and are now visible, bearing witness to their past presence in the region. Formerly owned by the Fleckenstein family, Roppenheim preserved a castle and a hunting lodge, traces of which still remain, notably near the church, the presbytery, and the half-timbered tithe barn.
