Saint-Michel Chapel of Stoecken
The Saint-Michel Chapel of Stoecken, built at the initiative of the residents and the parish of Masevaux, was inaugurated in 1903. It houses a polychrome wooden statue representing the Sorrowful Virgin, dating from the first half of the 15th century. According to the chronicle of Father Lintzer in 1902, this statue comes from the Saint-Léger Abbey Church of Masevaux, where a canoness lady reportedly witnessed the Virgin weeping on the eve of the Thirty Years' War. A symbol of compassion, the Virgin is depicted supporting the prayers of the suffering. This place of devotion is part of the tourist route "In the Footsteps of Mary," dedicated to local churches and chapels.
