Saint-Morand Chapel

On the first floor of the Altkirch hospital is the Saint-Morand chapel oratory. According to tradition, it was at this location, in the former priory, that Saint Morand died in 1115.

This site is notable for its Baroque architecture and the remarkable paintings by Giuseppe Appiani that adorn its walls and ceiling. The stained glass windows depict scenes such as the death of Saint Morand, the generosity of Saint Vincent de Paul towards a poor man, and the Nativity.
