Saint Nicholas Church
At the beginning of the 14th century, a modest chapel dedicated to Saint Gregory occupied the site. When the village gained parish status in the 17th century, a larger church dedicated to Saint Nicholas was built. Several decades later, between 1757 and 1773, work was undertaken to enlarge the building, deemed too small for the growing community. In 1858, a tragic fire, caused by a firecracker thrown onto a thatched roof, devastated the village center. The church and the presbytery were completely destroyed. A new church, rebuilt in a neo-Romanesque style, was then erected. However, the two world wars caused significant damage to this new building, reflecting the trials this place of worship has endured over the centuries.
