Saint Pierre Bois

In the heart of the Villé valley, the village of Saint-Pierre-Bois charms with its heritage and rolling surroundings, perfect for walks and immersing in local culture. Dominated by the Saint-Gilles church, built in 1788 on a hill, this place of worship houses two relics of the saint, once invoked against ear diseases. Every September 1st, a still well-attended pilgrimage is held here. From this hill, there is a breathtaking view of the village and its surroundings.

Each summer, the church hosts the Saint-Gilles Nights, an open-air show combining equestrian performances, dance, music, water games, and live arts, attracting locals and visitors for festive evenings.

Another village treasure, the House of the Swedes, built in 1571, is said to have served as headquarters for Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War. A rare house spared by the conflict, it embodies a page of local history and completes the commune's heritage.
