Saint-Urbain Chapel
Originally built in the 15th century, the Saint-Urbain Chapel has endured through the centuries undergoing several transformations. Restored in 1774, it was later destroyed during the Revolution before being rebuilt in 1933. Despite these events, it has watched over the vineyards of Rangen, a unique terroir in Alsace, for centuries. This pilgrimage site is notable for its location on the region's only volcanic soil. The Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer grape varieties grown at its feet benefit from this symbolic and historical protection.
