Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines

Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines, where rolling landscapes maintain a strong agricultural identity, also owes its development to mining and the tobacco industry.

In 1871, the Burrus family settled here and founded a factory dedicated to this crop. Among its most notable members, Maurice Burrus stood out as a deputy, internationally recognized stamp collector, and restorer of the ancient theater of Vaison-la-Romaine.

Today, the Burrus heritage can be explored through the Burrus villa, now an intercommunal media library, and its three-hectare botanical park, offering a peaceful and educational setting.
