Sainte-Thérèse Church

The pink chapel, built in the 20th century in a contemporary style, is part of the Sainte-Thérèse workers' housing estate. It follows the simple plan of the workers' houses: a square volume topped with a gabled roof. The horizontal windows, placed high up, serve as stained glass and are decorated with zigzag tracery. The west facade opens with a glazed door featuring concentric diamond patterns, framed by a broad geometric motif. The whole is punctuated by beige buttresses, creating a two-tone contrast with the pink walls.

Constructed in the 1920s, the Ensisheim workers' housing estate consisted of semi-detached houses intended for potash mine workers. The chapel, built nearby, provided them with a place of worship close to their workplace.
