SCHOEPFER Xavier Wines
In 1980, Xavier Schoepfer left the family estate to establish his own vineyard.
Over the decades, the business has steadily grown from 2 hectares of vines to 11 hectares today.
These plots span seven communes, including Hattstatt, home to the prestigious grand cru Hatschbourg.
This variety of terroirs allows for the production of a rich and nuanced range of wines, reflecting the richness of Alsace soils.
The vineyard is planted with the seven emblematic grape varieties of the region:
- Sylvaner,
- Pinot Blanc,
- Riesling,
- Muscat d’Alsace,
- Pinot Gris,
- Gewurztraminer,
- and Pinot Noir.
Chardonnay is also cultivated to produce Crémant d’Alsace, adding freshness and complexity to the sparkling wines.
Unlike other French wine regions, Alsace is distinguished by identifying wines by their grape variety, each showcased in slender, recognizable bottles.
