Schweinsfels Nature Reserve
The Schweinsfels rises in the heart of the Gallenwald massif, about two kilometers from Niedersteinbach, in a forest dotted with rocky blocks.
This steep slope reaches 510 meters in altitude at the top of a rock offering a remarkable panorama.
The site rests on a base of pink sandstone, characteristic of the Northern Vosges, and is adorned with a dense stand of majestic Scots pines.
The wildlife is varied: roe deer and wild boars can be seen, while the sky resonates with the songs of about twenty species of nesting birds.
