Schwendi Castle

Classified as a historic monument, this castle built in 1436 is now home to the Alsace Vineyard and Wine Museum.

It was managed by the Alsatian Brotherhood of Saint Stephen from 1561 to 1848, before this role was reinstated in 1947.

Since then, the brotherhood has rigorously overseen the quality of wines produced in the region.
