Secret Country Rail Bike
Embark on a unique rail bike adventure in the heart of the Secret Country. This fourteen-kilometer round trip takes you through preserved landscapes aboard a five-seat platform powered by two pedal sets. Departure is from the former Unicolait butter factory in Drulingen, where nature welcomes you after just a few hundred meters.
The route first crosses the Sitterswald forest before running alongside the Isch River, revealing a typical Alsatian countryside plain. After leaving Alsace near the village of Weyer, the line delves into the Heckeland, a territory of unique and preserved hedgerows.
The highest point of the route, once nicknamed the Geissbocksbahn or the goat railway, marks the culmination of this unusual outing. The rail bike offers an atypical and immersive way to discover this area.
Reservation is mandatory at the Drulingen service center, with arrival recommended fifteen minutes before departure. Each rail bike accommodates up to five people.
