Serret Museum

Opened in tribute to General Serret, who led the battles at Hartmannswillerkopf in 1915, the Serret Museum offers a journey through local history. Its collections focus on World War I, as well as the Alsatian resistance during World War II. It also highlights the evolution of the Saint-Amarin valley, from Roman traces to the industrial revolution, including the creation of glass and textile manufactories.

The Grenier, a dedicated museum space, immerses visitors in the daily life of past inhabitants. Here, one discovers the trades that shaped local life: cobbler, dentist, clog maker, and the schoolmaster in his period classroom. These reconstructions help to better understand the region's traditions and artisanal know-how.

To diversify experiences, the museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions. These enrich the permanent collections and offer visitors new reasons to engage with the valley's history and traditions.
