Siegfried-Burger Pottery

Contrary to what some might imagine, the Siegfried-Burger Pottery is not an American fast-food chain. Its name, pronounced "Bur-gé," comes from the coat of arms depicting a tower, as "Burg" means "tower" in German. This name has even caused some confusion, such as a Texan customer surprised by the pottery's age compared to his home state. However, this family business has existed since 1842 and has been managed by the same family for six generations. Originally, it was simply called Burger until Marie Burger married Ernest Siegfried in 1925, giving rise to the Siegfried-Burger Pottery. The shop welcomes the public Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 12 PM and 1:15 PM to 5:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 5:30 PM. No free or guided visits are offered outside July and August, when guided tours take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 PM by reservation.
