Sommertor Tower
The Sommertor is a historic gate that was an integral part of a city's defensive wall.
It shared this defensive function with two other gates, Niedertor and Mutscheltor.
What makes the Sommertor particularly remarkable is the preservation of its Romanesque base, a testament to its medieval origins.
Additionally, it still features loopholes originally designed for the use of cannons, illustrating the evolution of defense techniques over the centuries.
