Soppe le Bas
This Alsatian village, first mentioned in 1105 under the name Suspa, underwent several toponymic changes: Sulcebach in 1185, Sulzebach Inferior in 1302, and later Niedersulzbach.
Located in the lordship of Thann, it was initially under the authority of the Ferrette family before passing to the Habsburgs from 1324 to 1648. After this period, it was attached to the Duke of Mazarin until the French Revolution.
The commune was awarded the Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 for its role during the conflict.
Its tourist attractions include the Saint Vincent Church and the Rinkenbach organ, two notable elements of its heritage.
