Square de la Bourse

Nestled in the heart of Place de la Bourse, this 4,677 m² square is distinguished by its rich floral arrangements and the soothing shade of its century-old trees, including a plane tree estimated to be around 175 years old.

Triangular in shape, it is one of the oldest gardens in Mulhouse, having been established in 1826 during the creation of the Nouveau Quartier.

Originally, this private garden belonged to the owners of the buildings surrounding the square; it was situated nearly one meter below street level and was enclosed by wooden fences.

Later, it was filled in and surrounded by a railing to define its boundaries.

In 1925, the city leased it for 99 years, developed it, and turned it into a public green space accessible to all.
