St. George School
Constructed in 1880 under Mayor Nessel's administration, this architectural work features a neo-Romanesque style characterized by colonnades and capitals reminiscent of those in the late 12th-century imperial chapel. This stylistic choice is deliberate: it reflects Emperor Wilhelm I's desire to highlight to the people of Haguenau the prestigious heritage of the imperial residence in the Middle Ages.
