Steinbach Cemetery

To the right upon entering, this modest mound made of Silberthal mine stones, topped with a cross, marks a place rich in history.

Erected in 1915 by soldiers of the 152nd Infantry Regiment, it is the first monument raised in memory of their comrades. This site is also unique in that it is one of the rare soldier's graves bearing an associated name, reflecting a special recognition.
