Steinseltz

Nestled in a green valley, Steinseltz is an Alsatian village with authentic charm, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards. The Hausauerbach stream peacefully crosses the commune, shaping a landscape where each hillside has its role: to the south, the vineyards enjoy ideal exposure, while to the north, cereal crops, especially wheat, create a rural patchwork.

Its geographical location gives Steinseltz a unique historical significance. At the northernmost tip of Alsace, at the crossroads of the Lauter border valley and the ancient Roman road linking Wissembourg to Saverne, the village has long held a strategic position. This territory was marked by major invasions from the north and by a famous historical site: the Geisberg, the first French foothill where several chapters of regional history were written.

Today, Steinseltz charms visitors as much with its vineyard landscapes as with its rich past, offering a stop where nature and history harmoniously combine.
