Stork Enclosure

In Raedersdorf, the stork, an iconic symbol of Alsace, is at the heart of a conservation program aimed at encouraging them to settle permanently.

This initiative helps reduce the risks associated with migration, a journey often perilous for the long-legged bird. The enclosure, accessible on foot, by bike, or mountain bike, is not a prison for these birds: it is a secure space where they can be observed in complete tranquility. During the summer, guided tours are organized to discover these majestic birds, which were nearly extinct in the 1970s.

Participants learn about the methods implemented to preserve the species and have the opportunity to help feed the storks while observing them up close.
