Strasbourg Municipal Baths
Dive into the history of the Strasbourg Municipal Baths, a gem of Strasbourg's heritage classified as a Historic Monument.
Designed by municipal architect Fritz Beblo and completed in 1908, these baths embody the innovative spirit of the era, blending hygienist politics with artistic creation. Beblo envisioned every detail, from door handles to unique rooms, incorporating marble, English ceramics, and diverse influences: Antiquity, Baroque, Renaissance, and Art Nouveau. The whole forms a total work of art, where light and refined materials elegantly interact.
From their opening, the Baths broke social barriers by welcoming all audiences. Bourgeois seeking wellness and modest residents using the public showers and baths in the basement mingled there. A place of diversity and encounters, they remain a symbol of openness in the heart of Strasbourg.
Recently restored with respect for their history, the Baths now offer a Large and Small Pool accessible to all, as well as a complete wellness area: outdoor Nordic pool,
- jacuzzi,
- sauna, hammam, and treatments. Activities such as cooking workshops complement the offer for moments of total relaxation. Prices and schedules are available online.
