Street Art Mural

Perched on the imposing EDF dam building in Marckolsheim, a monumental 200-meter-long mural unfolds its graphic universe.

The artist Inkie, a close associate of Banksy, deploys an eclectic style drawing from Art Nouveau and Alphonse Mucha’s codes to animate stylized female figures.

The cross-border region is celebrated at the heart of the work: the word "Rhine" is written in French and German, framed by the flags of both countries.

Local biodiversity also features in this composition, with fish, forests, insects, and animals, while the Vosges mountains form a majestic backdrop. A Lorelei, a mythical figure of the Rhine, also finds its place here, adding a poetic touch to this industrial landscape transformed into a giant canvas.

Created in just ten days using nearly 600 spray paint cans, this colossal work is the result of a collaboration between the artist, MAUSA (Museum of Urban Arts and Street Art of Neuf-Brisach), and EDF.

Accessible only to pedestrians and cyclists, it is reached after a 6 km ride along a path by the canal, near the locks on the right bank.
