Strohberg Farm Inn

Perched in the Petit-Ballon Massif, the Strohberg Farm Inn offers a breathtaking view of the Alsace plain. This transhumance farm, operated by the Barb family for five generations, is one of the oldest in the Vosges massif. It welcomes hikers in a warm atmosphere, blending mountain authenticity with local cheese-making traditions.

By reservation for groups of at least five people, the inn serves traditional dishes at lunch such as roast pork, roast veal, or pot-au-feu. In the evening, the specialty is Munster cheese topped dish. All meats come from the farm's own livestock, ensuring freshness and quality.

The estate covers 50 hectares of rocky pastures rich in aromatic herbs, and 3 hectares of forest made up of beeches and firs. This pastoral management helps preserve the environment by maintaining open spaces in the Vosges massif.

The herd includes about forty cattle, while around ten pigs are raised each season to meet the inn's needs. Their meat is used to prepare local specialties like country bacon, cured ham, or pork head cheese, which adorn the guests' plates.

The Strohberg Farm Inn is open only on weekends, from late April to May 20 and from October 20 to November 11.
