Tagolsheim Nature Reserve – Im Berg

The Tagolsheim grassland, located on the southern slope of the Buxberg, stands out distinctly from the surrounding Sundgau landscape.

These lands, unsuitable for agriculture, were once used for extensive grazing.

Today, they host dry grasslands, remarkable habitats that support exceptional biodiversity: ten species of orchids, forty-five species of butterflies, and fifty-seven species of birds thrive here.

This site, known to naturalists from Haut-Rhin since the early 20th century, is also surrounded by typical woody flora of the region, such as boxwood and downy oak.
