Thannenkirch

Perched on the Wood Route, Thannenkirch is a small mountain village classified as a Green Holiday Resort, where nature is fully expressed. The village, flowery and peaceful, invites you to discover its surrounding landscapes through circular trails that cross varied natural environments. In spring, the blooming of thousands of cherry trees transforms the village into a scene of rare beauty, while summer is marked by events such as the Cherry Festival in early July.

Close to the Taennchel massif, classified as a quiet and silent zone, and the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle accessible within an hour's walk, Thannenkirch combines serenity with access to major Alsatian tourist sites.

Ribeauvillé is 10 km away, Riquewihr 14 km, and Colmar 25 km.

The village has local and mobile shops for supplies, as well as various accommodations: hotels, restaurants, furnished apartments, and guest rooms. The tradition of wood carving permeates Thannenkirch, visible in public works such as the church, town hall, and fountains, but also in private homes and establishments.

A Virgin and Child carved from a living oak marks the start of the botanical trail at the village exit.
