The Blue Tree Sculpture

The association l'Ar’t’bleu aims to make contemporary art accessible by bringing it outside major cities, especially to rural areas and villages. In 2022, during the Ascension weekend, it created the Blue Tree, an original artwork installed in the heart of nature.

To create it, the tree was carefully prepared: unstable branches were pruned, bark was removed, then the trunk and branches were scraped before being covered with a white undercoat, followed by a final layer of bright blue.

The Blue Tree is accompanied by a mysterious poem inviting passersby to discover and approach it. This enigmatic text, appearing as if by magic, speaks of the luck of encountering this unique tree, compared to an unparalleled sky, and calls to protect it by becoming its “godchild.” It also promises a deeper understanding of the artwork at a meeting set for September.
