The Convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Most Holy Savior

The Congregation of the Sisters of the Most Holy Savior was founded in 1849 by Élisabeth Eppinger, who became Sister Alphonse-Marie.

By 1852, the community already had 153 nuns spread across about thirty establishments.

Due to lack of space, the training house (novitiate) was moved in 1857 to Oberbronn, into the former castle of the Counts of Strahlenheim.

This place became the Mother House of the congregation in 1880.

Today, the convent in Niederbronn-les-Bains houses a retirement home for the elderly.

Additionally, Élisabeth Eppinger's birthplace can be seen at Rue du Général de Gaulle.
