The Council of Europe
Founded in 1949, the Council of Europe now brings together 46 member countries, representing about 700 million people.
This organization’s main mission is to protect human rights, while also engaging in areas such as social affairs, education, culture, and the environment.
Although physical visits are reserved for groups of at least 15 people with mandatory online booking, it is possible to explore its facilities in other ways.
Virtual tours offer the chance to enter its various buildings, often inaccessible to the public, and better understand its activities. These tours, lasting 3 to 7 minutes, are available in French and English. For a more interactive experience, the Europe Quest game invites you to explore the Council of Europe’s iconic sites, such as the Palace of Europe, the Human Rights Building, the EDQM, and the AGORA, as well as the Youth Centre optionally. Accessible from the organization’s forecourt in Strasbourg, this free game, lasting about an hour for a one-kilometer route, features quizzes, puzzles, and riddles to collect the 12 stars of the European flag. It can be played with family or friends, in French or English.
