The Couple

Sébastien Haller, originally from Mulhouse, trained at the Le Quai art school, where he graduated in 1986. He then completed his education with a cabinetmaking diploma in 1998.

For him, the artist must create works intended for public spaces, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on creations that question identity and the urban landscape. His sculptures, often dynamic, incorporate everyday scenes, individuals or groups, and play with the assembly of objects that, once combined, come to life and form a coherent image. His technical and eclectic approach is distinguished by the use of various materials, such as iron or laser-cut sheet metal, often made with the help of local Mulhouse companies. Sébastien Haller regularly collaborates with businesses and local authorities, which explains the presence of many of his works in public spaces. Among his creations are "Tas d’hommes cassés," his first monumental sculpture from 2002, and "Le Passager," installed in front of the Soléa building following a commission from Sitram. In pieces like "Le Couple," he expresses his desire to represent movement and dynamics through assembled and interlocked elements, thus giving an impression of life and fluidity to his creations.
