The Docks

The Docks of Strasbourg are the remnants of the former warehouses of the shipping company Seegmuller, which ceased operations in 2000.

Abandoned for several years, the site underwent a major rehabilitation project led by the city.

Inaugurated in September 2014, the historic buildings were transformed to house a modern media library dedicated to André Malraux, an innovative cultural space focused on digital creation called the Shadok, as well as student residences. Two large cranes, once used by Seegmuller shipping, were dismantled and restored in 2008. Reinstalled in their original locations, they now serve as a reminder of the port activity that once animated this place.
