The Dogs

Sébastien Haller, originally from Mulhouse, trained at the Mulhouse art school Le Quai, where he graduated in 1986. He then completed his training with a cabinetmaking diploma in 1998. For him, the artist must create works intended for public spaces, inviting viewers to linger on his creations. His sculptures mainly explore themes of urban landscape and human identity, incorporating everyday scenes populated by individuals or groups.

His artistic approach is eclectic and technical. He assembles objects to give them new life, forming dynamic images where movement plays a central role. Sébastien Haller regularly collaborates with companies and local authorities, which explains the presence of many sculptures in public spaces.

Among his works is the monumental sculpture "Pile of Broken Men," created in 2002. Another of his pieces, "The Passenger," was installed in front of the Soléa building following a commission from Sitram. In 2003, he participated in the summer sculpture program with a series of dogs scattered throughout the city. Finally, a work acquired by the city in 2001 is now visible in the Mulhouse zoo park.
