The Heronry
In the middle of a gravel pit, the heronry forms a preserved island where a remarkable reed bed and a natural spawning ground flourish. This unique biotope hosts a few pairs of herons, black kites, great spotted woodpeckers, and other species typical of the Rhine environments. To facilitate observation, a lookout has been installed near the bike path.
If you want to fully enjoy this natural spectacle, it is possible to rent spotting scopes at the town hall during opening hours.
