The Hundshof Washhouse

The Molkenbrunn washhouse, located on the edge of the Haguenau Exceptional Forest®, is the only one still existing within the municipal area. Situated near the former vanished hamlet of Molkenhof or Huettenhof, it is fed by a spring that is still active today. This freshwater basin, already present at the beginning of the 19th century, was developed by the Haguenau municipality in 1887. Its sloped design made of Vosges sandstone allows for washing clothes while standing, providing an ergonomic setup. The site is located on the cycling route connecting Haguenau to Lembach.
