The Landau Gate

The Landau Gate, built in 1708, embodies the legacy of engineer Vauban while resting on medieval ramparts.

On one side, a carved sun recalls the oath of allegiance sworn to the King of France in 1680.

Upstairs, accessible only during guided tours, an exhibition room houses a model of the city's fortifications, reproduced from the 1782 plans.
