The Manor Park

Around 1802, the future Empire Baron Mathieu de Faviers acquired an old feudal castle perched on a Vosges foothill.

He built a manor house below it, while a "picture garden" was laid out on the slope separating this Directoire-style residence from a Gothic fortress. The work included laying out lawns, planting the banks of a stream, and opening the forest to create access points and viewpoints. A pink sandstone ruin, redirecting perspectives, structures the romantic path through the wooded park.

Today, this monumental "fabric" houses the Eagle Aviary. At the entrance to the site, there is parking for cars and coaches.
